He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph P. Edwards and Myrtle V. Houck Edwards; his son Richard A. Edwards; and his siblings, Gene Edwards, Paul Edwards, James Edwards and Mary Bare.
He is survived by: his wife Neoma Edwards; and his sons, Joseph Edwards (Valerie), Gregory Edwards (Brenda), Jonathan Edwards (Elaine) and Eric Edwards. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home (820 S Church St, Murfreesboro, TN 37130). A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery (7931 McCrory Ln, Nashville, TN 37221).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Samaritans Purse, Fellowship of Christians and Jews, Gideons or Gentiva Hospice.
