He was predeceased by : his parents, Steve Whitaker and Mossie Whitaker; and his sisters, Navada Richardson, Ethel Brooks, Hazel Massingill, Opal Turner, Beulal Estes and Shirley Whitaker.
He is survived by : his wife Doris Ann Whitaker of Murfreesboro; his sons, Gary Whitaker (Carla) of Murfreesboro and Jackie Whitaker (Melanie) of Murfreesboro; his stepson David Johnson; his grandchildren, Matt Whitaker (Kaleigh), Lauren Duggin (Dustin) and Brandyn Whitaker (Anika); and his great grandchildren, Brantley Duggin and Emerley Duggin.
