James Wayne Pruitt Obituary
We are sad to announce that on October 13, 2025, at the age of 79, James Wayne Pruitt of Rutherford, Tennessee passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though James Wayne may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those James Wayne touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Lee and Mattie Bell Howell Pruitt; and his brother Bobby Ray Pruitt. He is survived by: his siblings, Linda Schmidt (Paul), Ruthie Richardson (Dale), Kenneth Pruitt (Susan), Larry Pruitt and Johnny Pruitt (Nancy). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home (820 S Church St, Murfreesboro, TN 37130). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
