We are sad to announce that, on October 13, 2025, at the age of 79, James Wayne Pruitt of Rutherford, Tennessee passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though James Wayne may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those James Wayne touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Lee and Mattie Bell Howell Pruitt; and his brother Bobby Ray Pruitt. He is survived by: his siblings, Brenda Smith (Jesse), Linda Schmidt (Paul), Ruthie Richardson (Dale), Kenneth Pruitt (Susan), Larry Pruitt and Johnny Pruitt (Nancy). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
