She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Newton Stem and Ozella Tabitha Lovvorn Stem; and her siblings, Betty McCord (Martha Louise Mofield), Robert Houston Stem and Charles Stem.
She is survived by: her husband JC Ashford; her stepsons, James Ashford and David Ashford; her sisters, Barbara Romans and Mary Alice Sanders; and her grandchildren, Quintin Ashford, Miranda Ashford and Jacob Ashford. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
