It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Stanley Yates of Rutledge, Tennessee, who passed away on May 14, 2026, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Rachel Ann Walker Yates; his parents, J. E. Yates and Etna Yates; his siblings, Joe (Betty Mae Yates), Charles Yates, Betty (I. L. Yates), Bob (Nancy Yates), Margaret (Jim Cofer) and Peggy (Frank Godwin); and his brother-in-law Charles Walker.
He is survived by: his children, Stanley (Joyce Yates), Mary Ann (Duffey Foutch), Jim (Ronna Yates) and Jay (Karen Yates); his grandchildren, Heather, Joe Shrader, Sara Beth, Jeremy Seal, Garrett, Abby Yates, Nate, Katie Yates, Neely Yates, Gavin Yates, Scott and Shana Housewright; his children, Joy Beth, Anna Seal, Kade, Amelia, Addalynn Yates, MaryKate Yates, Hagan Housewright, Rex and Ava Shrader; and his sisters-in-law, Carolyn Yates and Sue Walker.
