He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Howard W. Thomas and Dora Ann Robertson Thomas. He is survived by: his wife Detra DeLap Thomas of Savannah, Tennessee; his daughters, Ashley Dee Thomas Byrd (Justin) of Knoxville, Lesley Thomas Butler (Brandon) of Savannah and Kelsey Thomas Alexander (Amos Tuck) of Chattanooga, Tennessee; his brothers, Dr. Jim Thomas (Suzanne) of Savannah and Dr. Joseph Thomas (Rita) of Valdosta, Georgia; and his grandchildren, Kathryne Kemp, Koen Kemp and Betsy Alexander.
