With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Charles Wayne Gattis (Savannah, Tennessee), who passed away on June 3, 2025 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Sylvester and Ethel M. Brown Gattis; his sons, Christopher Allen "Pork Chop" Gattis and Jeffrey Charles Gattis; and his siblings, Ruth Loraine Gattis, Alta Mae Gattis Bryson, Millie Pauline Gattis Linville, Kathryn Faye "Kitty" Gattis Phillips, Patricia Ann Gattis Hill, William Sherrill Gattis, Sr., James Harry Gattis, Carl Ray Gattis and Billie Gene Gattis.
He is survived by: his significant other Loudean Tidwell; his son Gary Gattis (Lori); his grandchildren, Lindsey Surratt (Chris), Cole Gattis (Lindsay), Brad Gattis, Dylan Gattis (Annie), Callianne Cummings (Tyler), Halle Grace Livingston (Jacob) and Elijah Paulk; and his great grandchildren, Tucker Surratt, Tayte Surratt, Grayson Gattis, Case Gattis, Eden Cummings, Poppy Grace Livingston and Pierce Livingston.
Visitation was held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Shackelford Funeral Directors - Savannah (450 Church St, Savannah, TN 38372). A funeral service was held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at the Crump Cemetery (2995 US-64, Crump, TN 38327).
