He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Garner and Johnnie Garner; his son Emmett Watson Garner, Jr.; his siblings, Matthew Garner, Houston Garner, Merle Garner, Oneda Wallace and Lillian Garner; and his grandsons, Stephen Miller, James Garner and Jonathan Garner.
He is survived by: his wife Helen; his daughter Deborah (Glenn); his granddaughter Stephanie; his sister Graple; his sisters-in-law, Bonnie and Marie; and his pet Precious. He is also survived by nieces and nephews; a host of extended family.
