With sadness, we share the passing of James Nesbitt (Savannah, Tennessee). James, born on July 21, 1942, passed away on September 8, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Glenn Grimes Nesbitt and Arbie Lucile Godwin Nesbitt; his wife Janice Louise Gray; and his brother-in-law Robert Hughes of Adamsville, Tennessee.. He is survived by: his stepson Jerone Trent Stricklin; his grandson William Trent Stricklin of Savannah, Tennessee; and his siblings, Doris Lucile Hughes of Adamsville, Tennessee and Charles Franklin Nesbitt (Beverly) of Savannah, Tennessee. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Shackelford Funeral Directors - Savannah (450 Church St, Savannah, TN 38372). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at the Piney Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Piney Grove Cemetery Fund or his beloved Mountain View Church of Christ in Savannah, Tennessee.
