He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Franks and Bertha Franks; his wife Mattie Wilson; his son Kenneth Franks; and his children-in-law, Rhonda Franks and Phillip Kelly.
He is survived by: his children, Jerry Franks (Brenda), Judy Kelly, Billy Franks (Debbie) and Jana Davis (Ronald). He is also survived by grandson that JC helped raise, John Franks and his wife Christina; 11 grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren.
