He was predeceased by: his parents, John Tidwell and Mary Tidwell; his wife Mary Elizabeth Casteel; and his siblings, Lucille Beckham, Etta Hosea, Gladys Hosea, Agnes Hopper, Thelma Jerrolds, Murray Tidwell, Charles Tidwell and Tommy Tidwell.
He is survived by: his daughter Wanda Polk (Jerry); and his grandchildren, Michael Polk (Jina) and Jennifer Butler (Brook). He is also survived by 4 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 21st 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Shackelford Funeral Directors - Savannah (450 Church St, Savannah, TN 38372). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 21st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, April 21st 2026 at the Piney Grove Cemetery.
