Though Melissa may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Melissa touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Barbara Gay West and Clifton Lee West; and her brothers, George William Burks, Jr. and Johnny Lee West. She is survived by: her husband David Kenneth Hoffman; her children, Daniel Kenneth Hoffman (Devin), Julie Elizabeth Rider (Greg) and Brian Clifton Hoffman (Kerrie); and her grandson Lincoln Rider.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Roller-Citizens Funeral Home Chapel (201 Pine St, West Memphis, AR 72301). A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Melissa was known for her love of animals, housing dozens of pets throughout her life, as such the family requests that if you do not wish to send flowers, memorial contributions be made to The Animal Doctor of Selmer (825 E Poplar Ave, Selmer, TN 38375).
