He was predeceased by: his parents, Louie Tate Sr. and Maggie Turnipseed Tate; his siblings, Abraham Lincoln Tate, Linda Tate Burns and Rev. Grady Nixon; and his god-brother Luster Hubbard.
He is survived by: his brother Louie Tate Jr. (Virgia) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and his brother-in-law Harold Burns of Savannah, Tennessee.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
