He is survived by: his wife Minnie Jo Hill of Selmer, Tennessee; his children, Jimmy Hill (Geneva) of Bethel Springs, Tennessee, Cathy Carothers of Adamsville and Ann Talley (Billy) of Corinth, Mississippi; his grandchildren, Mandy Hill, John Carothers (Laura), Cortney Terry (David), Maegan Mayfield (Jonathan), Richard Carothers, Lacie Naylor (Josh), Nikki Leath (Jon), Sarah Grace Mitchell (Robert), Benjamin Carothers (Shauna), Dustin Talley (Meghan), Thomas Carothers (Sarah) and Breanna Talley; his brother Billy Joe Hill; and his sister-in-law Betty Vetter. He is also survived by 25 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Shackelford Funeral Directors - Selmer (160 Cypress Ave, Selmer, TN 38375). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Shackelford Funeral Directors - Selmer Starts (160 Cypress Ave, Selmer, TN 38375). A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at the Mars Hill Cemetery (500 Peach St, Selmer, TN 38375).
