He was predeceased by : his father James M. Hamm; his wife Mary Lou Littlejohn Hamm; the mother of his children Freida Hollis Hamm; and his siblings, Will Tom Hamm, Frances Rose Robinson, Faye Hamm Armstrong and Billy Frank Hamm.

He is survived by : his children, Brenna Dawn Hamm, James Charles "Chuck" Hamm (Rhonda Whitaker-Hamm) and Robin Hamm Buchanan (Henry "Hank"); his grandchildren, Sarah Robin Buchanan, John "Jack" Price Buchanan and Emily Hamm Larson; and his sister Fran Deny of Memphis, Tennessee..
