With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Lawanda Gail Layne of Sequatchie, Tennessee, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 29, 2025 at the age of 53. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Lawanda had on those she encountered along her journey. Though Lawanda may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Roberta Layne and Roy Layne; her brother Anthony Layne; and her sister-in-law Tina Layne. She is survived by: her son Makiah Layne (Lindsey Busetto); her grandson Oliver Layne; and her siblings, Gary Layne (Lea), Terry Layne, Rickey Layne (Sharon) and Stacy Pemberton (Tyler). She is also survived by nephews, nieces and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM at the Whitwell Memorial Funeral Home, Inc. (795 Morrison Springs Rd, Whitwell, TN 37397). A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 at 2:00 PM and at 4:00 PM.
