Orvil Long Obituary

We bid farewell to Orvil Long of Sequatchie, Tennessee, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 2, 2025 at the age of 86. Orvil touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Long and Pearlie Long; his wife Elva Jean Long; and his siblings, Norman Long, Ruth Basham, Carl Long, Lillie Cousins, Velma Slatton and Houston Long.

He is survived by: his children, Donna Ansel, Debbie Marty and Greg Long; his sister Willie Mae Rollins of Texas; his grandchildren, Brandy Cox (Daniel), Monica Hofman (Andrew), Deanda Langston (Lynn), Tabitha Marty (Bryan), Shonna Marty (Justin Smith), Miranda Franz, Gabriel Long (Brandi Wolf) and Kayla Long; and his great grandchildren, Colton Ansel, Jaydon Arceneaux, Slade Cox, Purity Hofman, Myla Hofman, Ryder Hofman, Avi Hofman, Danika Marty, Jaylynn Youngblood, Cambrie Long, Laytin Long, Channer Long and Copeland Long.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Whitwell Memorial Funeral Home, Inc. (795 Morrison Springs Rd, Whitwell, TN 37397). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
