It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ellen Maria Gilbert (Seymour, Tennessee), who passed away on March 3, 2020, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter L. Drinnen and Lucinda Galyon Drinnen Burchell; her husband Louis B. Gilbert; her children, Pamela Maria Gilbert and Donny L. Gilbert; and her sister Joyce Drinnen Benson Gamerl.

She is survived by: her son David A. Gilbert (Margaret); her daughter-in-law Teresa Gilbert; her grandchildren, Melanie McDaniel (Eric), Scott Gilbert (Molly), Ben Gilbert (Candace) and Joey Gilbert (Brandi); her great grandchildren, Audrey, Gracie, Finnian Joshua, Jack and Crosby; her sisters, Velma Drinnen Kerr and Lois Drinnen Rogers; and her friend March. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to Shiloh Baptist Church building fund would be her wish: 1432 Shiloh Church Rd, Seymour, TN 37865.

“Dear Cousins, We rejoice that Ellen is in the arms of Jesus, but so sorry for our loss. She was such a delight to visit with at the Drinnen Reunions. We never knew her when we were children, but so enjoyed her in our adult years. Uncle Walter lived across the street from my parents (Porter and Hattie Drinnen) when they retired to Seymour. Our love and prayers are that you will have the peace of Jesus and comfort of the Holy Spirit. Charlene Drinnen Elliott”
