In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Shirley leaves behind and her impact on the lives of her loved ones. Though Shirley may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the memories held dear by her family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Martin Luther and Annie Mae Hancock (Hawk); her husband James Hoyt Howard; her son Don Edward Howard; and her siblings, Charles Hancock and Alice Mehrer.
She is survived by: her children, Diane Featherston of Sharon, Tennessee and Douglas Howard (Carol) of Moro, Oregon; and her grandchildren, Tori Rousch (David) of Newbern, William LaRue of Martin and Tracey Campbell (Ashley) of Martin, Tennessee. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Forest Hills Cemetery (10200 AR-5, Alexander, AR 72002).
