We bid farewell to Clara Ruth Parsons of Shelbyville, Tennessee, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on July 20, 2025 at the age of 95. Clara Ruth touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Marvin "Sib" McGowan and Willie Rose McGowan (Marlin); her husband Henry Russell Parsons; and her siblings, Clarence McGowan (Mae) of Nolensville, Herman "Tootsie" McGowan (Frances) of Chapel Hill, Eloise Seel (Ernie) of Edgewater and John McGowan (Betty) of San Jose, California..
She is survived by: her son Norman Parsons (Vickie); her granddaughters, Megan (Kyle) of Shelbyville, Insell of Shelbyville and Blair Turner (Drew) of Shelbyville; and her great grandchildren, Leighton Insell, Charleigh and Avery Turner. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hillcrest Funeral Home (1802 Madison St, Shelbyville, TN 37160). A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens (1802 Madison St, Shelbyville, TN 37160).
