He is survived by: his wife Elfrieda Cortright; his children, Irene Utzman (Robert) and Curtis Cortright (Cindy); his grandchildren, Cortney Walters (Jacob) and Vincent Walters; and his siblings, Charles, John, Lila and Kay.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
