With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Ella Brown Carpenter of Shelbyville, Tennessee, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 29, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lester Clayton and Mary Magdalene Pinkston Brown; and her brothers, Samuel Clayton Brown and William Henry. She is survived by: her husband Donald Rogers Carpenter, Sr.; her sister Betty Anna Brown Spence (Bobby); her children, Cathy Nichols (Nicky), Don Carpenter, Jr. (Kaye) and Carol Martin (Rocky); and her grandchildren, Clark Nichols, Hannah Rempe (Logan), Austin Carpenter (Megan), Kateland Hall (Ryan), Drew Martin (Jordan), Matt Martin and Greg Martin. She is also survived by great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Feldhaus Memorial Chapel (2022 N Main St, Shelbyville, TN 37160). A funeral service was held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
