She was predeceased by : her parents, Joe T. Brunson and Horace Zimp Brunson; her former life partner John Grady Pelfrey; her husband Glenn D. Rucker; and her grandson Noel Christian Smith.
She is survived by : her children, Karen Pelfrey Smith (Peter) of Chattanooga, John Grady Pelfrey Jr. (Norma) of Athens, GA, Krista Rucker Rawlins (Jimmy) of Baton Rouge, LA and Kelly Rucker Bingel (Thad) of Arlington, VA; and her stepchildren, Glenna Rucker of Denton, TX, Randal Rucker (Judith) of Los Altos, CA, Jan Rucker Roseberry of Maryville, TN and Robert Rucker. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren; and more than 20 great-grandchildren.
