He is survived by : his wife Phyllis Shuptrine Best (Wright); and his children, Thilo David Best (Betsy), Susan (Stout) of Hayesville, Hoffman (Kurt) of Hayesville, Carolyn (Stout) of Hayesville, Horne (Allen) of Hayesville, Lee Anne (Stout) and Fry (Bill). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
