It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ceylon Eugene Taylor Sr. of Smithville, Tennessee, born in Elkhart, Indiana, who passed away on November 2, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion Frances "Hap" and June Carroll Mitchell Taylor; his wife Susan Taylor; the mother of his child Samanda Armour Beecham; his brother John Taylor; and his stepson Chris Gammons.
He is survived by: his children, Ceylon (Cynthia Taylor), Bruce Gammons of Smithville, Jonathan Armour (Terra Goad) of Smithville and Mary Ann VanDyne (Bobby Harmon) of Smithville; his sister Carol South of Smithville; the mothers of children, Pauline Taylor and Brenda Gammons; and his stepdaughter April Lewis (Todd VanDyne). He is also survived by nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
The family has requested that donations be made to Love-Cantrell Funeral Home in lieu of flowers to help with funeral expenses.
