We announce the death of Hazel Mullican (Smithville, Tennessee), who passed away on August 29, 2026, at the age of 84. Hazel will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her husband Buford Mullican; her parents, Willie Hobert and Elsie Mae Neal; her siblings, Hobert Neal, Dortha Barnes and Lorene Burchfield; her granddaughter Kayla Hurst; and her son-in-law Brett Bishop.
She is survived by: her children, Melissa Bishop, Teresa Bryant (Don), Tony Mullican (Terri) and Christy Barrett (Jimmy); her grandchildren, Rusty McCloud, Tara Colwell (Matt) and Chase Bryant; her great grandchildren, Nimue Grace McCloud, Lucy Hurst, Layla Colwell and Beau Colwell; and her brother Paul Neal. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the DeKalb Funeral Chapel (863 S Congress Blvd, Smithville, TN 37166). A funeral service was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 at the DeKalb Cemetery.
