He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hummer and Dorothy Hummer. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Hummer; his daughters, ChrisAnne Fults (Andrew) and Pamela Parham; his grandchildren, Kayla Jayne Belk and Caleb John Parham; and his great grandchild Vincent McGill.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dekalb County Fire Department or the Vietnam Veterans Association, in memory of Mr. Hummer.
