Joseph Laboe Obituary

We announce the death of Joseph Laboe of Smithville, Tennessee, who passed away on September 11, 2026, at the age of 98. Joseph will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Laboe and Dolly Dewey Laboe; his wife Elaine Laboe; and his sons, Joey and Greg Laboe.

He is survived by: his children, Val Laboe and Kenny Laboe (Betty); his grandchildren, Kenneth Fry (Shirley), Lacey Proctor (Michael), Jennifer Brady (Logan), Sarah Doescher (Lane), Heather Pruitte (Chad), Jason Stembridge and Crystal Laboe; his great grandchildren, Gracie Cope (Kadin), Abbie Brady, Allie Brady, Ethan Brady, Eli Brady, Felicity Bell, Brett Bell, Devin Judkins, Cole Judkins, Zack Pruitte, Tyler Pruitte, Blake Pruitte, Bryce Stembridge, Cali Stembridge, Kaitlynn Fry, Haile Fry, Summer Fry, Trenton Fry, Jennaveve Fry, Addaline Laboe and Everly Conley; and his great great grandchild Khodi Cope.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to DeKalb Funeral Chapel to help with funeral expenses in memory of Mr. Laboe.
