We announce the death of Nelson Gilreath of Smithville, Tennessee, who passed away on June 1, 2026, at the age of 78. He was predeceased by: his parents, Dallas Gilreath and Jewell Young Gilreath Medley; and his stepfather Clyde Medley. He is survived by: his wife Fay Gilreath of Smithville; his daughter Tarron Huddleston (Bobby) of Norene; his stepsons, Shane Cook and Nathan Cook; his grandchildren, Colby Huddleston of Murfreesboro, Heath Daugherty, Quentin Cook and Taylor Cook (Olivia); his great grandchildren, Ivy Cook, Aiden Cook, Winston Cook, Ellie Daugherty, Lane Daugherty and Cami Daugherty; and his close friend Larry Caldwell.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations may be made to Allen's Chapel Church building fund in memory of Mr. Gilreath.
