With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ruth Mai Johnson Griffin of Smithville, Tennessee, who passed away on April 7, 2024 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Frank Johnson and Velma Clemons Johnson; her husband J. C. Griffin; her daughter Teresa Diane Griffin; and her siblings, Juanita Bates and Eddie Johnson.

She is survived by : her daughter Kathy Darlene Griffin; her grandchildren, Barry Alan Griffin, Krystal Nash and Tonya Nash; her siblings, Loretta Linder, Peggy Colwell, Louise Arnold and Kenneth Johnson; and her great grandchildren, Jacob Christopher Nash, Owen Price, Matthew Price, Jordan Tyler Qualls, James Thomas Qualls, Steven Qualls and Nicholas Gaige Qualls.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 10th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Hunter Funeral Home (120 Bockman Way, Sparta, TN 38583). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 10th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
