He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Carl Eddie Read and Mary Annie Thigpen Read; his brother Durwood Read; his pet Billy; his daughter Erica Clearwater; his close friend Virginia Read of Saltillo; his children, Mary Karn, Katherine Addison and Cornell Edsel Read Jr. (Eddie); and his sons-in-law, Greg Karn and David Addison.
