With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Douglas Russell of Smyrna, Tennessee, born in Detroit, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 9, 2025 at the age of 71. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Elam Matthew Russell and Dorothy Neal Allen Russell; his son Douglas Ray Russell; his son-in-law Hank McMahon; and his siblings, Janie Lawrence and Dennis Russell.
He is survived by: his wife Charlene Russell; his daughter Cheri McMahon; his grandchildren, Gina Williams (Arick), Tyler Yates (Faith), Dylan Tomlin (Katrina) and Chase McMahon; his great grandchildren, Carter Williams, Asher Williams, Oakleigh Yates, Byrd Yates and Erica Tomlin; and his siblings, David Russell (Alan Russell) and Pam Campbell.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 15th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Monday, June 16th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Woodfin Chapel (203 N Lowry St, Smyrna, TN 37167). A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens (5350 NW Broad St, Murfreesboro, TN 37129).
