With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Merlin Henderson of Smyrna, Tennessee, born in Pontotoc, Mississippi, who passed away on October 7, 2025 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, Merlin is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Merlin's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He is survived by: his wife Diane Kennedy Henderson; his daughter Renee'Caldwell (Jim); his granddaughter Kathleen; and his sister Berdell Henderson Hillhouse. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and his in-laws.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Springhouse Worship and Arts Center (14119 Old Nashville Hwy, Smyrna, TN 37167). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at the Triune Cemetery (7906 Nolensville Rd, Arrington, TN 37014).
