He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Sue Drerup Holland (Charles) and Allen B. Merritt Jr.; and his brother Allen B. Merritt III. He is survived by: his children, Allen B. Merritt IV and Sarah Merritt Wright (Cody); his grandsons, Elijah and Thomas Wright; his brothers, Don Merritt (Teri) and John David Merritt (Sherry); his pet Max; and the mother of his children Lisa Merritt. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
