He was predeceased by: his parents, Shirley Adeline Dockery Brewer and Robert Carl Brewer of Smyrna; his siblings, Sherry Brewer Johnson and Mark Brewer; and his grandparents, Zonie Claire Hesson Dockery, Willie Robert "Red" Dockery, Lola Ruth Young Brewer and Ellis Moore Brewer.
He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Bowen Brewer; his children, Cynthia Claire Brewer O'Kain (John O'Kain) and Rhett Michael Brewer (Brittany Curtis Brewer); his grandchildren, Beckett Michael and Noa Katherine Brewer; his mother-in-law Sybil Thompson Bowen; his brother-in-law Charles Ashley Bowen; his sister Kitty Waggoner (Steve); his stepmother Marilyn Gannon Brewer; and his stepsiblings, Dr. Brian Gannon (Michele) and Melanie Varner (David). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
