It is with sadness that the passing of Tom Harris Seat of Smyrna, Tennessee is shared. Tom, born on May 23, 1933, passed away on August 23, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Tom will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honor Tom by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though Tom is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. Tom’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He was predeceased by: his parents, V. L. Seat and Orlean Dodson Seat; and his former wife Sue Garner Seat. He is survived by: his wife Eleanor Winn Seat; and his children, Jeff Seat (Tabitha) of Nashville, Roger Seat (Julie) of Florida and Joy Hartsfield (Gary) of Murfreesboro. He is also survived by four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
Visitation was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Woodfin Funeral Chapels- Smyrna (203 N Lowry St, Smyrna, TN 37167). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 at 12:30 PM at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens (5350 NW Broad St, Murfreesboro, TN 37129).
Memorial donations can be made to the International or North American mission boards via Lascassas Baptist Church.
