It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William Barnes Jr. of Smyrna, Tennessee, born in Corinth, Mississippi, who passed away on September 13, 2024, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Barnes and Mattie Lou Barnes; his wife Joyce Marie Barnes; and his siblings, John C. Barnes, James Barnes and Lucille Dees.

He is survived by: his sons, Ken Barnes (Donna), Gary Barnes (RoseAnne) and Dale Barnes (Linda); and his grandchildren, Christy Pitman (Stephen), Lisa Felts (Chris), Jenna Bell (Isaac), Amy Via (Kevin), Kimberly Barnes, Chris Barnes (Taylor), Justin Barnes and Monica Barnes. He is also survived by 15 great grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the Tennessee State Veterans Home of Murfreesboro or the Dementia Society.
