He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Mitchell and Effie Lee Lewis Mitchell; and his siblings, Leroy, Clyde, Claude, Carl Mitchell, Margaret Branon, Jeanette Rattledge, Maxine Thurman and Pauline Powell.
He is survived by: his wife Dora True Mitchell of Soddy Daisy; his son Adam Mitchell (Carrie) of Dayton; and his grandchildren, Tara and Connor Mitchell.
