He was predeceased by: his parents, Willian Tanner and Dorothy Tanner; and his brother Delwin "Red" Tanner. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Carlisle Tanner; his children, Kathy Wilson, James Kenneth Tanner (Kandace), Sharon Gallahar (Billy) and Debbie Howard (Mike); and his grandchildren, Mandi Hoover, Tiffany Silvers, Jennifer Crow, Machana Coyne, Jeremy Brooks, Chiesa Smith, Heather Tanner, Danielle Matthews, Trey Howard and Katie Hill. He is also survived by seventeen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
