She was predeceased by: her parents, David "Dave" Thompson and Edna Minton Thompson; her son Captain Dale Phillips; her brothers, Jimmie Thompson, Herschel Thompson and Anthony Thompson; and her niece Jeanette Warren.
She is survived by: her husband Kenny Smith of Somerville, Tennessee; her son Joey Phillips (Renee) of Clarksville, Tennessee; her sister Lee Ann Carter of Woodlawn, Tennessee; and her grandsons, Seth Phillips of Lakeland and Landon Phillips of St. Louis, Missouri. She is also survived by her family and grandchildren and the love she had for all animals.
