He was predeceased by: his parents, Carlos Rufus and Reba Christine Crabtree Dial; his wife Ruby Gail Dial; his grandson Joshua Myers; his stepson Steve Blanton; and his sisters, Marjorie Mullins and Sue Turk.
He is survived by: his daughter Penny West (James); his grandchildren, Kurstin West and Caleb West; his great grandchild Stetson Smith; his stepchildren, Tina Fortner (Richard) and Rodney Blanton; his stepgrandchildren, Jason Flatt (Nora) and Rachel O'Neill (Sean); and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Alan Stoner and Quinn O'Neill.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hunter Funeral Home (120 Bockman Way, Sparta, TN 38583). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home (120 Bockman Way, Sparta, TN 38583).
