She was predeceased by: her sister Ashley Gates Ables; and her grandparents, Vergie Ables of Fayetteville, Benjamin Douglas Gates and Mary Cornelia Powell Gates of Whiteville, Tennessee.. She is survived by: her parents, L. Bruce Ables and Dovie Gates Ables; her caregiver Rhonda King; her cousin Mandy Moore; her friend Rebecca Blanks; her niece Madison Ferguson; her aunts, Cornelia Gates, Dixie Offutt of Huntsville and Faye Pylant (Georgia) of Columbus; her uncle Lex Ables (Barbara) of Franklin; and her stepbrothers, Mike Denis (Kristian) of Huntsville, Mark Denis (Jennifer) of Huntsville, Tim Denis (Jennifer) of Huntsville and Denis. She is also survived by her family, friends, and caretakers.
