It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ernest Martin Cheek of Sparta, Tennessee, born in Sewanee, Tennessee, who passed away on April 7, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Wilson Cheek and Sally Martin Cheek; his wife Carolyn Andrews Cheek; and his sister Sue Cheek McElroy. He is survived by: his sister Rachel Cheek Smith of Knoxville, TN; his children, John Cheek (Jongee), Courtney Vaughn (David) and Julie Anderson (Mike); his grandchildren, Rachel Cheek, Will Cheek (Amber), Julia Gaffney (Tyler), Tyler Vaughn, Seth Anderson and Caroline Holman (Todd); his great grandchildren, Adalee, Blaine, Tatum Jane and Walker Holman; and his grandchildren, Lively Mae Anderson, Campbell Mae Cheek and Goldie Gwen Gaffney.
