He was predeceased by: his parents, James Brown and Rintha Brown; his wife Charlene Brown; and his brother Robert Vernon Brown. He is survived by: his children, James Brown (Cindy) of Sparta, Tonya Sweat (Billy) of Lynchburg, Virginia, Martha Howard (Jeffery) of Sparta, Brenda Wyatt (Philip) of Nashville and Lynn Brown of California; and his brother Paul Brown of Lynchburg, Virginia. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
