She was predeceased by : her parents, Anna Mae Porter and Landon Hamby; her husbands, Jim Howard and Donald Kinnaird; her children, Lilly Starnes-Spencer, Danny Howard and Jimmy Lee Howard; and her siblings, Carmen, Gene, Joe, Bobby, Ben and Peggy.

She is survived by : her children, Joseph Howard (Lori), Ruby (Albert Mina), Treeva (Don Russell) and Nancy (Randy Wilbanks). She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-great grandchild.
