She was predeceased by: her siblings, Lankford, Lee, Fate, Jasper Lyle (J. L.), Noah, Fred, Calvin, Junior Raper, Geneva Hatcher, Bertha Sparkman, Mary Spakes and Callie Bumbalough; her parents, Mamie Esther Lyles Raper and Willie Jasper Raper; her former husband Cleatus Smith; and her husband Beecher Cooley.
She is survived by: her children, Wendell Cleatus Smith (Gayle) and Myra Jane (John); her grandchildren, Jane Keith Edmonds, Charlotte Marihugh (John), Hayley Smith Edmonds and Bradley Wendell Smith; her great grandchildren, Claire Ann Marihugh and Madelyn Jean Marihugh; her stepgrandchildren, Greg Sloan (Tiffanie) and Alyssa Njezic (Joey); and her stepgreat-grandchildren, Ethan Njezic (Allison), Harrison Sloan, Emmie Ruth Sloan, Brice Njezic, Maddox Njezic, Sloan Njezic, Miya Njezic and Jade Njezic.
Katherine was a member of Sparta Nazarene Church and requested in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the church in her memory.
