He was predeceased by : his parents, Charles Edward Moorehead and Dorothy Juanita Nicholson Moorehead of Tullahoma, Tennessee.; and his grandson William Caleb Matthew Moorehead. He is survived by : his wife Linda Nell Austin Moorehead; his sons, David Matthew Moorehead (Tracy Irene Medley) and Micah Lee Moorehead; his stepdaughter Myra Jane Austin Shipley; his granddaughters, Kyla Shasteen Moorehead and Katelyn Sierra Moorehead Sims (Chandler Sims); his brothers, Roger Dean Moorehead and Stephen Russell Moorehead; and his niece Carol Annette Moorehead. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 22nd 2024 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM and on Friday, May 24th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Oak Lawn Funeral Home (1786 Smithville Hwy, Sparta, TN 38583). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 24th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
