He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Mitchell and Rose Wells; his daughter Alisha Michelle Mitchell; and his siblings, Pauline Cress, Ann Mitchell, Betty Miniard, Everett Mitchell, David and George Mitchell.
He is survived by: his wife Mavie Coots Mitchell; his siblings, Lonis Mitchell (Marie), Jeff Mitchell, Kathy Shepherd and Dallie Maggard (Carl); and his close friends, Danny Henson of Georgia and Alan Caudill of Tennessee. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Walker Funeral Homes (155 Hickory St, Hyden, KY 41749). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
