He was predeceased by: his parents, Clay Hunley and Minnie Jessie Hunley; his grandson Robert Adrian Hunley; his brothers, George Donald Hunley, Ralph Hunley, James Hunley, Jerry Hunley and Elbert Hunley; and his daughter-in-law Jennifer Baker Hunley.

He is survived by: his wife Geneva Powers Hunley; his children, Robert Randy Hunley (Sharon), Kenneth Duane Hunley (Julie), Sharon Warren (Steve), Angela Steward (Greg) and Anthony Hunley; and his siblings, Mary Ethel Hemmings, Susie Gilbert, Marie Coleman and Johnny Hunley. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation was held on Monday, October 19th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel (6340 Cumberland Gap Pkwy, Harrogate, TN 37752). A funeral service was held on Monday, October 19th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Flatwoods Cemetery (445 Flatwoods Rd, Speedwell, TN 37870).
