William Carey Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William Carey of Speedwell, Tennessee, who passed away on October 12, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Carey and Viola Jessie Carey; his son William Mitchell Carey; and his siblings, Lois Lambert, Margaret Evans, Paralee Trombley, Eva Cavins, Sara Jones, Carolyn Williford and Freddie "Doc" Carey.
He is survived by: his wife Doris Brooks Carey; his children, Ann Williams Kershaw (Jesse), Donna Faye Russell (Josh), Cody Lee Carey and Crystal Leach; his grandchildren, Chelsey Williams, Katie Russell and Olivia Williams; his great grandchild Grant Hunter Bledsoe; and his sister Hazel Carey. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel (6340 Cumberland Gap Pkwy, Harrogate, TN 37752). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Flatwoods Cemetery.
